EP Huddle #45
Hiring an intern can be a wonderful thing for your business. Typically, interns equate to free or cheap labor in exchange for you offering them practical experience and helpful career coaching. But, hiring an intern isn't an easy thing, and successfully mentoring an intern is sometimes even harder.
Here are a few tips for working with an intern in your office.
As a team:
Write down as many activities as you can that would help your company become more successful. After you've written them down, look for patterns in the required skill sets. You'll start to see what kind of college student you'd want. Also make sure you have a plan for interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training. Also make sure there's a point person to recap each day/week with the intern to make sure the benefit is a two way street.
Now you can start recruiting.
